Labels
JXtended Labels 1.0.2 Beta has been released. This release addresses several bugs in the 1.0.1 Stable release.
The following bug fixes are included in the 1.0.2 Beta release.
The latest version of JXtended Labels for Joomla!™ has several new features to improve your Web site. A new related content module makes associating content as simple as labeling it with the same label. You can now configure the ordering for content when viewing a label page whichever way makes most sense for your site. Also, feeds can now be generated for label pages so that you can syndicate your labeled content to the world. These exiting new features and much more are available immediately with JXtended Labels 1.0.1 for Joomla!
Now!
Following from the release of the new JXtended site, the demo site has also been updated and expanded with the latest version of all our commercial products.
The demo site includes complete example installs of three essential extensions for all Joomla Web sites:
- Comments - visitor and user commenting, content rating and social bookmark links;
- Finder - advanced and accurate searching for Joomla Web site; and
- Labels - labels/tags for your content that integrates directly with the administrator article edit page.
Each of these extensions is easy to install and configure in minutes.
For your projects that need a little bit more horsepower, example installs of our content management extensions are also available:
- Catalog - perfect for directory sites; and
- Magazine - to suit sites that mimic printed magazine-style, publication based Web sites.
Administrator access is available to give you a feel for how all these extensions can lift what you can offer on your Joomla Web site.

Today was round 2 of our little Twitter experiment to see what would happen when we gave anyone and everyone the opportunity to ask Rob Schley, JXtended Developer, Development Working Group Coordinator and Open Source Matters Board Member, any question they could imagine. Be sure to follow JXtended and RobSchley on Twitter to catch the next opportunity to get your questions answered by a Joomla expert. Without further ado, onto the questions!
It is a well known fact that Joomla lacks the ability to assign content to multiple categories. JXtended Labels has been developed to fill this gap, and it does it in a very slick and easy-to-use way. So let's begin by following how I'm adding Labels to one of my sites, The Art of Joomla (which, by the way, is a pretty cool site if you want to learn about Joomla development).
JXtended Labels is a commercial extension (GPL licensed) for Joomla and costs around US$40. That includes updates and forum support for 12 months and unlimited installs.
We are very excited to announce the release of Labels for Joomla 1.5, an innovative tool that allows you to categorize and group content in a way that is friendly to people both browsing and administering your Joomla site. Labels takes the idea of tagging content to a whole new level by not only grouping content for visitors, but by performing the same organization for site administrators as well. No longer will content managers have to sift through all the articles and extensions on your site - no matter how simple or complex your site is, finding and editing content is only a few clicks away.
