Configuration Options

The global configuration options for Labels are organized into three groups: System Setup, Label Lists and Label Items.

System Setup

Content Labels: This option toggles whether the Labels that have been applied to content items should be displayed on the site. If set to Show, the text "Labels" will display after the content followed by a list of the labels that have been applied to the content. For example, after some content about Joomla!, you might see "Labels: Joomla, Software, Awesome"

Follow Links: This option toggles whether a rel="nofollow" attribute should be added to links generated by the Labels system. The no follow attribute tells Search Engines to index the link but to not include it in ranking calculations.

Label Media: This option controls which image media should be displayed by default.
The options include:

• Hide - Only display media if it's embedded in the body text for the Label, and hide all other media.
• Thumb - Display the Label's thumbnail image.
• Small - Display the Label's small image.
• Medium - Display the Label's medium image.
• Large - Display the Label's large image.

Label Manager Order: This option controls how Labels are ordered inside the "Manage Labels" interface in the administrator console.
The options include:

• Alphabetical by Title - List labels in alphabetical order.
• Reverse Alphabetical by Title - List labels in reverse alphabetical order.
• Ordering Ascending - List labels in order of numeric ordering from lowest to highest.
• Ordering Descending - List labels in order of numeric ordering from highest to lowest.
• Newest First - List labels in order of creation date from newest to oldest.
• Oldest First - List labels in order of creation date from oldest to newest.
• Least Items First - List Labels in order of the number of content items from fewest to most.
• Most Items First - List Labels in order of the number of content items from most to fewest.
• Least Popular First - List Labels in order of popularity from least to most popular.
• Most Popular First - List Labels in order of popularity from most to least popular.
• Random - List labels in a random order.

Label Lists

These options include settings for how Labels will display in Label Lists and Clouds.

Label Ordering: This option controls the default ordering of Labels on your site. This setting applies to the Labels Cloud and Labels List layouts, as well as the Label Cloud module.
The options include:

• Alphabetical by Title - List labels in alphabetical order.
• Reverse Alphabetical by Title - List labels in reverse alphabetical order.
• Ordering Ascending - List labels in order of numeric ordering from lowest to highest.
• Ordering Descending - List labels in order of numeric ordering from highest to lowest.
• Newest First - List labels in order of creation date from newest to oldest.
• Oldest First - List labels in order of creation date from oldest to newest.
• Least Items First - List Labels in order of the number of content items from fewest to most.
• Most Items First - List Labels in order of the number of content items from most to fewest.
• Least Popular First - List Labels in order of popularity from least to most popular.
• Most Popular First - List Labels in order of popularity from most to least popular.
• Random - List labels in a random order.

Empty Labels: This option controls whether Labels with no content items should be displayed by default.

Label Limit: This option controls how many Labels should be displayed by default in a Labels Cloud. A value of zero (0) will display all Labels.

Content Count: This option controls whether the number of content items within each Label should be displayed by default in a Labels Cloud.

Label Items

These options determine how a label will display the content that it has been applied to.

Label Title: The Label Title option controls whether the title of a Label should be displayed.

Label Body: The Label Body option controls whether the body text of a Label should be displayed.

Content Title: The Content Title option controls whether the title of a content item should be displayed.

Content Type: The Content Type option controls whether the content item title should be prefixed with the content type. For example, "Article: JXtended Labels" would indicate that the link is to an article titled "JXtended Labels"

Content Text: The Content Text option controls whether the text of the content item should be displayed.

Text Length: The Text Length option controls how much of the text (number of characters not including markup) of the content item should be displayed. The default value is 255 characters.

Content Media: The Content Media option controls whether the media of the content item should be displayed. This option is currently only supported for JXtended Magazine and Catalog. The media that will be displayed is the thumbnail image if present.

Content Labels: The Content Labels option controls whether the other Labels that have been applied to the content item should also be displayed.
