Comments and Joomla! Articles

Comments integrates with regular Joomla! articles via a Content Plugin.

To manager this Plugin, select Extensions -> Plugin Manager from the menu.

Find Content - Comments in the list, or type comments into the search box and click the Go button.  This plugin must be enabled in order to display comments in regular Joomla articles.

Click the title of this plugin to edit it.

This plugin has the following of parameters:

• Show for Uncategorized: Determines whether to display the comments from for articles that are uncategorized.
• Show for Categories: Select one or more articles categories for comments to be enabled. Hold down the ctrl (or command key) and click to select multiple categories.
• Show for Frontpage: Show comments for articles in a frontpage view that are in categories where comments are enabled.
• Show for Sections: Show comments for articles in a section view that are in categories where comments are enabled.
• Show for Categories: Show comments for articles in a category view that are in categories where comments are enabled.
• Show Sharing: Globally enable or disable sharing links for articles.
• Show Ratings: Globally enable or disable ratings for articles.
• Show Comments: Globally enable or disable comments for articles.

Note: You must also enabled comments, ratings and or social bookmarks in the Comment component options as well, otherwise they will not display regardless of the parameter settings.

Advanced Parameters:

• Sharing Placement: Whether to display the social bookmaring links before or after the body text of the article.
• Ratings Placement: Whether to display the ratings before or after the body text of the article.
• Comments Placement: Whether to display the comments before or after the body text of the article.

When you are happy with the settings, click Save in the Toolbar.  Please note that you must publish this plugin in order for any of the settings to take effect.  If you do not, comments, ratings and bookmarks will not display regardless of the settings you choose.
