Labels: A New Way to Group and Organize Content for Joomla!

We are very excited to announce the release of Labels for Joomla 1.5, an innovative tool that allows you to categorize and group content in a way that is friendly to people both browsing and administering your Joomla site. Labels takes the idea of tagging content to a whole new level by not only grouping content for visitors, but by performing the same organization for site administrators as well. No longer will content managers have to sift through all the articles and extensions on your site - no matter how simple or complex your site is, finding and editing content is only a few clicks away.

Key Features:

  • Easily label most content on your site: Joomla articles and contacts, Magazine articles, Catalog items
  • Display labels with a variety of options
  • Choose a label from the list of labels you've already added, or quickly add a new one
  • Rich media support allows you to associate up to four images with each label
  • Open Source and released under the GNU General Public License for your ultimate freedom

  1. Is there a demo around here somewhere where this can be tested?
  2. We are working on an update for the demo site which will have Labels installed. Look for that update in a couple of days. Best, Rob
  3. "..the idea of tagging content to a whole new level" Thanks for this coming to Joomla. Semantic web RDF and browsing labels ? in hierarchies in a structured way will kill the today's tagging solutions that is limited in o n e level only. exited about this! ssnobben :-)
  4. I also see that Joomla now is getting very close to the discussion of the thread I started Apr 15, 2007 with SEO, profiling, a flexible unlimited nested sub categories system where labels maybe could be part of that solutionLink Text SEO fixed, Profiling is on the way now (CB integration needed) Promo The only strange thing is that non one have taken up Enno Klasings Extending the Nested Sets Model with "Hardlinked Nested Sets" Really nice to see that the new J 1.5 framework is progressing! :-)
  5. I purchased this extension for use on a non-profit site www.ccaidsalbany.org, for use organizing the stores in a shopping portal. I am very pleased with the extension. One question - why is the extension not available on the JED?
