Why do we choose Joomla!?
Joomla!™ is extremely popular and well-supported project. It has been around since 2005, but the people involved in it's production have been involved in many other projects for many years before that (the history is interesting reading for a rainy day). It's estimated to power some 2-3 million of the world's Web sites. It has a community known to number in the hundreds of thousands.
It is well-financed and as a result it is able to support local community groups through the now very popular Joomla! Days. Dozens of Joomla! Days now occur throughout the year all around the world.
Joomla! also provides free support to its third-party developer community through two sites: JoomlaCode, where developers can have a place to work with other people on their particular project, and the Joomla! Extensions Directory, which is a directory of extra things you can get for Joomla!.
