Base Content
Most of the base content of this Web site is managed through the Joomla! 1.5 Article Manager with some custom layout overrides for cleaner site markup. This site also utilizes the new Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URL system available in Joomla! 1.5 to provide easily readable and memorable links.
Support Resources
The Documentation and Knowledge Base sections of the site utilize Magazine. Each area is configured as its own publication organized into sections by product name. The categorization system used is configured to span publications, so that the same categorization system is used to organize both Documentation and Knowledge Base content items. Advanced Access Control List (ACL) management for Magazine content items are available by using Control.
The Forums are powered by FireBoard with modifications applied to integrate our extended user groups, and also to allow you to subscribe to any posts in a sub-forum.
Member Management
Because of the complex infrastructure necessary to manage a site like this one, we developed our own member management system from the ground up. The membership system closely integrates with Joomla!'s built-in user system and Control so that members only need to register once to gain access to the special site features including documentation, downloads, and forums.
Search
To provide the most accurate search results, this site utilizes Finder, an advanced Joomla! search engine that we developed to overcome the poor user experience that comes with the Joomla!-based search system. Finder utilizes keyword indexing, like most modern search engines, to quickly and easily find the most appropriate results.
